January 1, 2017— Grace Creek’s Vice President of Production John Sorensen travelled to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem to produce a new documentary film for the Pew Research Center titled Israel’s Religiously Divided Society. The in-depth video project is a companion piece to Pew’s extensive opinion survey that compares attitudes of American and Israeli Jews and also explores differences within Israel’s Jewish population. Sorensen interviewed experts in both the US and Israel, as well as everyday Israelis about how religious divisions among Israeli Jews affect public policy issues ranging from running buses on the Sabbath to the stalemate over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Building Support for Outward Bound’s Scholarship Program

Grace Creek worked with the non-profit Outward Bound, to produce a short video that the organization is using to raise scholarship funds for its ongoing programs. Outward Bound is a national non-profit organization that creates outdoor adventures that challenge young people to grow as individuals. Its core mission is to use experiential learning to help young people become more resilient and compassionate citizens.

Grace Creek wove interviews with young scholarship recipients and location footage into a coherent and effective tool for communication and fundraising. By understanding the organization’s central philosophy, Grace Creek was able to create a useful message video with strong emotional touchstones.

Project Happiness To Be Screened at The California Independent Film Festival

The California Independent Film Festival (CAIFF), one of the most successful and fastest growing film festivals in California, has selected Project Happiness as a main feature in the documentary category for its 2014 season. The film will be screened on September 12 at the Orinda Theater near Berkeley, CA.

The ninety-minute feature was produced and directed by John Sorensen, Grace Creek Media's VP of Production. Andrew Walworth, president of Grace Creek Media, and Randy Taran, founder of The Project Happiness Foundation, are co-executive producers.

To date, Project Happiness has been a selected feature at more than 30 international film festivals and won several awards including The Indie Fest and the Los Angeles Surge Film Festival. As the centerpiece of an ongoing awareness campaign, the film has been screened in high schools nationwide as an introduction to Project Happiness, a nonprofit educational organization.

The film is now available in Spanish and has been translated into six other languages.

Lithuanian Activist Vytautas Landsbergis is One of Many Activists on Bush Center's Freedom Collection

The George W. Bush Presidential Center on the campus of Southern Methodist University opened its doors to the public on May 1, 2013, and The Freedom Collection’s archive of interviews with democracy activists will be featured in the museum exhibits. This groundbreaking initiative is part of The Bush Institute’s efforts to promote the principles of human liberty around the world.

Through in-depth HD television interviews, the dynamic website chronicles the stories of those who have been instrumental in the advancement of human freedom. Interview subjects include Vaclav Havel, the late Czech president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, president of Liberia, and the Dalai Lama.

The Collection’s most recent addition is Vytautas Landsbergis who led the nonviolent movement to free Lithuania from 50 years of Soviet occupation.
